We gather together now to bake bread,

as one community, with many hands.

What we make this weekend,

will be shared with all as part of our Hunger Communion service on Sunday.

May we bake it with warmth in our hearts,

laughter on our face,

and strength in our hands.

We are glad for the time away to share in fellowship,

we are grateful for food to eat,

and warmth in this home away from home;

knowing that back home many are still without heat or running water from the Hurricane.

May we treat this blessing as the gift that it is.

And may we have fun along the way!
